1906 San Francisco Earthquake
It happened at 5:12a.m on Wednesday,April 18,1906 in San Francisco.
The Pacific plate and the North American plate hit each other.
Richter 7.8. Mercalli measured damage XI.
As a result, about 3,000 people died.
Over 80% of San Francisco was destroyed.
Destroying more than 28,000 buildings.
The quake ruptured the San Andreas fault to the north and south of the city, for a total of 296 miles, and could be felt from southern Oregon to Los Angeles and inland to central Nevada.

The north American and Juan de fuca plate caused the earthquake

It happend July 28 1976 It was 7.8 on the richter scale and it was 7.1 on the mercalli scale
242,000 people died
The earthquake lasted 14 to 16 seconds
It was followed by a 7.1 after shock.
About 500,000 people were injured. The electrical system failed
